Thanks to many new technological advances there is a wide variety of ab exercise machines that a person can use to optimize the workout program. There are numerous benefits that are associated with the use of the machines including helping to make the exercises much simpler, when using the equipment. This way, a person is able to enjoy the entire process more because not as much effort is needed to perform the routines.

 

Individuals no longer have to go to public gym to use the abs machine because they are readily available for purchase to use at home. This means that one can find time to use the ab exercise machines without having to consider the specific times that the gyms are open. There are also a number of DVDs and other videos that a person can use to help them use the machines. Visual aids make it easier for everyone to use the machines without having to call in a professional.  This way, one is also able to save loads of money because you don’t have to pay gym membership.

 

Ab exercise machines also come in handy when you only want to work on a specific part of the body like the stomach.   This is very important because most of the exercises that individuals used to engage in, like swimming or running, worked on the whole body.   Whole body workouts are not the main emphasis for people engaging in ab workouts.  Workouts for abs target the abdominal area for immediate impact.  Machines help control body movements more effectively than a person trying to control his/her own movements.  The machine results are, in most instances, plainly quicker and more detailed.

 

Ab exercise machines also help one to achieve results faster as compared to a person who is not using the machines. This comes in handy especially in a world where people don’t have a whole lot of time to get the results that they want.  All one needs to do is pick the right equipment, know the right ways to use it and they are good to go.  There are numerous improvements being made on the machines and they keep getting better and better as time goes by. This means that you should try and get the latest versions out on the market as they are likely to be more efficient and effective.

Terrific video demonstrating an abs workout routine you can do at home. You don’t need an abs machine or fitness membership to really give yourself a great abs workout.

I wanted to ad this article from Marty because he talks about some simple and straightforward abs exercises that are very effective.

You don’t always need fancy equipment to achieve results. There are plenty of good ab workouts that can be done without an abs machine or expensive abs exercise equipment. Here’s Marty’s article…

In pursuit of the best abs work out the American Council on Exercise conducted a study and here are some of the most effective and best abs work out that we can use.

On top of their list is the bicycle exercise which targets both the waist and the six pack. To do this properly, one has to lie on one’s back and place fingers behind one’s head. Move the knees in towards the chest area and lift the shoulder blades without pulling on the neck. Then straighten the left leg out while at the same time turn the upper body to the right. In effect, bringing the left elbow towards the right knee. Next is to switch sides, this time bringing the right elbow towards the left knee. Continue the pedelling motion for 12-16 repetitions. Make sure you alternate sides.

The second best abs work out is the captain’s chair leg raise. The captain’s chair is a rack with padded arms that allows your legs to hang freely. One must avoid swinging the legs or using the momentum to raise one’s legs. Always keep the knees bent since this will help you focus on your abdominals not on your hips. To do this correctly, stand on the chair and grip the handholds to make your upper body stable. Then press your back against the pad and compress your abs to be able to raise your legs and lift your knees towards your chest. Remember not to arch your back or swing your legs up. You should slowly lower your back down. Do this in sets of 1-3 consisting of 12-16 repetitions.

The third best abs workout is the exercise ball crunch. Here you just need to lie on your back with the ball under your mid or lower back. You can either place your hand behind your head or cross your arms over your chest. Then contract your abs in order to lift your torso off the ball. This in effect, will pull the bottom of your ribcage down towards your hips. Always keep the ball steady when curling up to avoid any injuries. Lastly, lower your back down. This will stretch your abs. Do at least 12-16 repetitions.
